Blue Poles to leave Canberra for Perth — first loan in over 20 years

The National Gallery of Australia is loaning Jackson Pollock's Blue Poles — insured for more than $500 million — to the Art Gallery of Western Australia for a six-month exhibition from April 2027. It is the painting's first loan in over 20 years and its first showing in WA. Director Nick Mitzevich declined to discuss transport logistics, citing security.
