Scottish Information Commissioner seeks Supreme Court ruling on legal privilege and FOI law

Scotland's Information Commissioner, David Hamilton, is seeking permission to appeal to the UK Supreme Court after the Court of Session overturned his order to release documents linked to the inquiry that cleared Nicola Sturgeon of breaching the ministerial code. Hamilton said the ruling made it too difficult to obtain legally privileged documents through FOI requests. A Supreme Court judgment would bind all public authorities under Scotland's FOI regime.
