Stanford calls 'a rot' inside MBIE but backs chief executive Blakeley to fix it

Immigration Minister Erica Stanford declared there is "a rot" inside MBIE while expressing confidence in chief executive Nic Blakeley to fix the ministry. Stanford had previously refused to say whether Blakeley had her confidence. The Privileges Committee found Blakeley in contempt for deliberately misleading Parliament over a multi-million-dollar IT project. He offered to resign; Public Service Commissioner Brian Roche rejected it, citing Blakeley's six weeks in the role.
