No legal guarantee of shelter in NZ, Housing Minister admits

Housing Minister Chris Bishop has told RNZ it "does not sit comfortably" with him that New Zealand has no legal guarantee of shelter for people on any given night. He described housing as "an enormous challenge" but rejected a legislative fix, saying what matters is that government services are effective. Emergency Housing Minister Tama Potaka declined to comment on guaranteed shelter.
