
Iran's Rezaei traps Gulf states between closed Strait and threatened alternative routes
Iranian security official Mohsen Rezaei stated August 22 that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until alternative Gulf export routes open, then warned August 23 that "not even a drop of oil" would leave the Gulf if neighboring states join US economic measures — pledging to target those same alternative routes. The two statements leave Gulf states with no viable export path under either condition.
