
Swinney spent over £45,000 on business-class flights for US World Cup and trade trip
First Minister John Swinney spent more than £45,000 of public funds on business-class flights for himself and two aides during a US trip combining Scotland's World Cup opener in Boston with trade talks in Kentucky. His ticket and private secretary John Webster's each cost £17,893, the BBC reported. Swinney said costs were "minimised." Sports Minister Maree Todd flew economy.
