NSW Premier wrongly announced missing hiker found alive, then corrected: body discovered after eight-day search
A body believed to be that of 18-year-old Sydney bushwalker Lily Hooper was found in the Southern Highlands on 20 August, ending an eight-day search across Nattai National Park. NSW Premier Chris Minns initially told parliament she had been found alive, then corrected himself: "Lily's body has been found." Formal identification is pending.
