Industry warns government drone reform is hasty as spray drones can weigh over 100kg

Aviation industry leaders have criticised the government's removal of certification for routine drone spraying as hasty. Aviation Industry Association vice president Dr Isaac Henderson said spray drones can weigh over 100kg and travel at more than 70km/h. Overseas, a farm-spray drone reportedly killed a motorcyclist in China last year. The association's Simon Wallace said it had been working with the government for months on careful rule changes.
