Bishop declines fast-track bid for 1,000-home Pegasus Golf Course redevelopment

Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop has declined to refer Wolfbrook's fast-track application to redevelop Pegasus Golf Course in Canterbury into about 1,000 homes, effectively blocking the project from the expedited consenting pathway. The decision is the first major test of how the minister handles a fast-track bid for purely residential development rather than infrastructure. Waimakariri Mayor Dan Gordon welcomed the decision as "a wonderful win for the community."
