Minister blocks fast-track plan for 1,000 homes at Pegasus Golf Course

Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop has stopped a plan to build about 1,000 homes on Pegasus Golf Course in Canterbury. The developer wanted to use a special fast-track process that lets projects skip normal approval steps, but Bishop would not pass the application on. It's the first housing-only bid he has had to decide on. Waimakariri Mayor Dan Gordon called it "a wonderful win for the community."
