Student Kills Classmate Then Himself at Ateneo de Zamboanga Junior High School

On August 18, 2026, a student at Ateneo de Zamboanga University's junior high campus in Barangay Tumaga, Zamboanga City, shot a classmate dead and then killed himself. The suspect carried two firearms and wore a body camera to livestream the attack, per Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso. School shootings are rare in the Philippines.
