Student Shoots Classmate and Himself at Philippine School

On August 18, 2026, a student at a junior high school in Zamboanga City, Philippines, shot a classmate dead and then killed himself. Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso said the shooter brought two guns and wore a body camera to broadcast the attack live. Such attacks are very rare in the Philippines. Authorities say they are still handling the situation.
