Trump chief of staff impersonation campaign reaches UK as Burnham targeted

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham exchanged messages with someone posing as Susie Wiles, Donald Trump's chief of staff, Politico reported. Only a "few messages" of no significance were sent before Burnham reported the contact. The FBI opened an investigation in May 2025 into the hacking of Wiles' personal phone, previously used to target US senators, governors and executives.
