Aged care report urges lowering asset test threshold — a move no government has taken on

The Ministerial Advisory Group on Aged Care, chaired by David Cunliffe, wants the government to commit to "significant price uplifts" and lower the asset threshold at which people pay more for their own care. The 40-recommendation report touches home equity and superannuitant income. Associate Health Minister Casey Costello earlier flagged "major political considerations." The government has not yet responded.
