S-21 Survivor Bou Meng Dies at 85, Shrinking Already Tiny Roster of Living Witnesses to Khmer Rouge Atrocities

Bou Meng, one of only seven known adult survivors of the Khmer Rouge's S-21 prison in Phnom Penh, where at least 12,000 people were tortured and killed, died at 85. He spent years standing in the very rooms where he was held, speaking directly to visitors at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. His death further narrows the living cohort of witnesses.
