Apple Proposes 15% External-Link Commission, Down From 27% That Triggered Contempt Finding

Apple filed a tiered commission proposal with the U.S. District Court for Northern California on August 14, 2026: 15% for standard apps, 5% for small business developers, 10% for partner programs and subscription renewals. The 15% standard rate is nearly half the 27% fee that led an April 2025 contempt ruling in the Epic Games case.
