USS George Washington Heads to Middle East to Replace Record-Setting USS Abraham Lincoln

The carrier USS George Washington transited the Strait of Malacca toward the Middle East to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln, NPR reported. The Lincoln has spent more than 260 continuous days at sea — a record — supporting U.S. operations against Iran. The George Washington departed Da Nang, Vietnam, on Aug. 5, a Navy statement said.
