Amazon Exits MMO Publishing, Hands Off Two Titles, Shuts Down New World

Amazon will stop publishing Lost Ark and Throne and Liberty in western markets. NCSOFT takes over Throne and Liberty in Q4 2026; Smilegate reclaims Lost Ark in early 2027. New World: Aeternum shuts down January 31, 2027. Amazon also ended development on a Lord of the Rings MMO in May 2026. The company is now redirecting focus toward titles like Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.
