Roku Open-Sources Lightweight OS for Cheap Microcontroller Boards

Roku released Roku LT OS on June 3, a lightweight open-source operating system for ESP32 microcontroller boards costing just a few dollars. Already powering Roku remotes, the SDK is now public on GitHub. The move opens the door for developers building devices in automotive, IoT, and industrial control—applications where predictable, real-time response matters.
