Police Restrained Stabbing Victim After False Attacker's Emergency Call

In December 2025, Southampton police handcuffed an 18-year-old student bleeding from stab wounds after his attacker's brother made a false 999 call claiming he was the victim. Bodycam footage shows the injured student saying "I can't breathe" while restrained. Vickrum Digwa, 23, received life imprisonment with a 21-year minimum sentence. The police force has referred itself for independent investigation.
