Consumer Hearing Aid Maker Cearvol Enters OTC Market with AI Model

Cearvol, a Shenzhen-based electronics maker, launched the Wave Lite on August 26, an over-the-counter hearing aid for mild to moderate hearing loss. The device amplifies sound by 40 decibels using AI noise reduction and requires no audiologist fitting. The move builds on the FDA's 2022 decision to open hearing aids to consumer sales, pushing mass-market manufacturers further into traditionally prescription-only territory.
