A new hearing aid you can buy without seeing a doctor

Cearvol, a Chinese electronics maker, launched the Wave Lite hearing aid on August 26, 2025. You can buy it directly, without a doctor's visit. It amplifies sound by 40 decibels—enough for mild to moderate hearing loss—and uses artificial intelligence to filter out background noise. This extends a trend that began in 2022, when the FDA allowed hearing aids to be sold over the counter, much like glasses.
