Student Maps the Fragmented World of AI and Data Center Rules
A University of Washington student has built an interactive map tracking AI policy and data center regulations across countries. The tool merges existing policy databases with newly scraped legislative data, filling a gap: data center rules are scattered across zoning, environmental, and energy laws that rarely talk to AI governance. As data center capacity becomes a bottleneck for AI development, policymakers now have clearer visibility into how different regions navigate innovation versus resource constraints.
