Student Creates First Global Map of AI Policy and Data Center Regulation

Isabelle Reksopuro, a University of Washington student, has built an interactive map aggregating AI policy and data center legislation across jurisdictions worldwide. The tool combines Epoch AI's policy database with scraped legislative data, addressing a critical gap: data center regulations scattered across zoning, environmental, and energy silos rarely connect to AI governance frameworks. The map provides policymakers and infrastructure teams visibility into how regions balance innovation incentives against resource constraints as global data center capacity becomes a limiting factor for AI development.
