Meta launched Instants on May 13 in Italy and Spain—a mobile app that only lets users capture photos and video live through the camera. Gallery uploads are blocked. Posts can go to Instagram close friends or mutual followers with text overlays only. The constraint echoes BeReal and early Snapchat, where immediacy trumps curation.
