Google Expands Gboard to 500+ Languages, Adding 15 African Tongues

Google has expanded Gboard to support over 500 language varieties across 40 writing systems. Each language runs on its own machine learning model for typing prediction and voice recognition. The update adds 15 African languages to Voice Search and dictation features, with infrastructure now capable of handling complex grammar structures and tonal speech that earlier systems could not process well.
