Google Gboard Now Supports 500+ Language Varieties Across 40 Writing Systems

Google expanded Gboard to support more than 500 language varieties across 40+ writing systems globally. Each language requires a purpose-built machine learning model for text prediction and voice recognition. The rollout includes 15 new African languages added to Voice Search, Gboard's talk-to-type, and Google Translate dictation. The infrastructure now handles morphologically complex and tonal languages that earlier systems struggled to process effectively.
