Two killed by large waves at Essex beach

Sarah Keeling, 45, and her daughter Grace, 15, died on 22 July 2026 after waves exceeding 12 feet swept them into the water at West Mersea beach, Essex. A third person remains hospitalised in serious condition; two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The beach reopened the following day.
