New merged charity calls for national lung cancer screening programme

Four heart and lung charities have merged into the Cardiac and Respiratory Foundation, led by CEO Letitia Harding. Its top priority is a government-funded lung cancer screening programme — targeted at high-risk groups rather than everyone, to keep costs down. Australia and the UK already run such programmes. New Zealand does not.
