NYC Mayor Urges Federal Government to Enforce ICC Warrant for Netanyahu

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani called on the federal government to enforce the ICC's arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at a July 22, 2026 press conference, calling him the "architect of horrific genocide." The ICC, or International Criminal Court, issued the warrant, but neither the U.S. nor Israel is a member. Mamdani conceded the NYPD lacks authority to act without federal direction. President Trump has said Netanyahu "will not be arrested" on U.S. soil.
