NYC Mayor Asks Federal Government to Arrest Israeli Leader Netanyahu

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani asked the federal government to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at a July 22, 2026 press conference, calling him the "architect of horrific genocide." The International Criminal Court — a global court that prosecutes war crimes — issued the warrant, but neither the U.S. nor Israel belongs to it. Mamdani admitted the NYPD cannot act without federal direction. President Trump has said Netanyahu "will not be arrested" on U.S. soil.
