NYC Mayor Mamdani: City Cannot Carry Out ICC Arrest Warrant for Netanyahu

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in a July 22 video that the city lacks legal authority to execute an ICC arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The International Criminal Court issued the warrant; city governments cannot enforce it. Mamdani retreated from his 2025 campaign pledge to direct the NYPD to arrest Netanyahu. He called Netanyahu a "war criminal" and said he is not welcome in New York.
