Netherlands Bans Trade With Israeli Settlements Starting September 22

The Netherlands approved a decree banning all trade in goods from Israeli settlements in the Palestinian Territories and occupied Golan Heights, effective September 22, 2026. Global Echo research found the Netherlands handles one third of settlement agricultural exports and nearly half of those bound for the EU. Dutch firms abroad can't broker such trade either. Belgium, Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia have taken similar steps while the EU remains divided on a bloc-wide ban.
