Zendaya Wears Looted Ancient Iranian Artefacts as Earrings at London Photocall
Zendaya wore gold medallions from the Ziwiye hoard — Iranian antiquities looted in 1947, dating to roughly 700 BC — as earrings at a London photocall for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. The earrings belong to Mayfair gallery Barron London. Archaeologists and Courtauld professor Sussan Babaie called the use of looted antiquities as fashion accessories a "hijacking" of Iran's cultural heritage. Neither Zendaya nor Nolan has responded.
