
Trump orders 50% tariffs on some Canadian goods within 30 days
U.S. President Donald Trump signed a July 20 executive order imposing 50-per-cent tariffs on certain Canadian products within 30 days. White House officials cited provincial bans on American liquor, Canada's supply-managed dairy system, and vehicle quotas. Energy, potash and fish are exempt. Canada's 13 premiers, already meeting in Charlottetown, had internal trade on their agenda.
