Inflation climbs to 4.1%, breaching Reserve Bank target
Annual inflation hit 4.1% in the June 2026 quarter, Stats NZ data shows — the highest in over two years and above the Reserve Bank's 1–3% target band. Consumer prices rose 1.5% in the quarter, up from 3.1% annually in March. Fuel prices driven by the US-Iran war caused the jump.
