Maine Democrats Coalesce Around Logger Troy Jackson to Replace Platner on Senate Ballot

Maine Democrats are rallying around logger Troy Jackson to replace withdrawn Senate nominee Graham Platner, the Washington Post reported. A party convention July 25 will formally fill the vacancy. Platner exited the race July 10 after winning the June 9 primary. The nominee will challenge four-term Republican Sen. Susan Collins in November.
