Maine Democrats Pick Logger Troy Jackson to Replace Withdrawn Senate Candidate

Maine Democrats are backing logger Troy Jackson to replace Graham Platner, who dropped out of the Senate race, the Washington Post reported. Party members will meet July 25 to make it official. Platner left the race July 10 after winning the June 9 primary vote. The winner faces four-term Republican Sen. Susan Collins in November.
