Police clash with Gen Z protesters marching on India's parliament

Thousands gathered at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on 20 July 2026 and tried to march on parliament, in the Cockroach Janta Party's largest protest yet. The Hindu reported a police lathi-charge — a baton assault by officers. Delhi Police had refused march permission. The Gen Z-led movement, which began as satire, demands education reform and Prime Minister Modi's resignation.
