Internet Matters surveyed 1,270 UK children aged 9-16 and found 32% had circumvented age verification systems within two months, with nearly half finding them easy to defeat. Concurrently, 49% reported encountering harmful content online. The findings indicate that current technical safeguards alone fall short of the Online Safety Act's protective goals.
