Mottola says Sony threatened Grammy withdrawal over Ricky Martin slot

Former Sony Music chief Tommy Mottola said Sony threatened to withdraw its artists from the Grammy broadcast after organisers resisted a Ricky Martin performance. He spoke on Oct. 19, 2026 at Faena Theater in Miami Beach during Billboard Latin Music Week. Martin later performed 'The Cup of Life', which helped introduce him to a broader United States audience.
