
UK Proposal to Accept Bank Cards as Voter ID
Britain's proposed Representation of the People Bill would let voters show non-photo bank cards at polling stations, rolling back the compulsory photo ID rule from 2022. The Electoral Commission warns polling staff would struggle to verify identity, and estimates 16,000 in-person voters left without voting for lack of ID. The trade-off is access versus security.
