Mountbatten-Windsor wins challenge as search warrants ruled unlawful

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor won his judicial review claim — the court process testing lawfulness of public decisions — after Thames Valley Police accepted search warrants were unlawful. Mr Justice Hilliard recorded the agreement. The warrants, issued at the Old Bailey on 18 February, authorised searches of his Sandringham residence and Royal Lodge, Windsor. Police used the wrong legislation.
