
UK Considers Easier ID Rule for Voting
Britain’s proposed Representation of the People Bill would let voters at polling stations prove identity with a photo-less bank card, like a library card. Photo ID has been required since 2022. The Electoral Commission warns staff would struggle to check who’s who, and estimates 16,000 in-person voters left without voting for lack of ID. Is easier access worth weaker checks?
