Russian Drone Strike Kills One at Kyiv Science Academy

Russia struck the National Academy of Sciences building in central Kyiv with a drone on Sept. 28, 2026, killing at least one person and injuring at least three, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Academy president Anatoliy Zagorodny said many staff were inside. The 19th-century building sits near the German embassy and National Opera.
