Russia Hits Science Building in Kyiv, One Killed

Russia hit the National Academy of Sciences building in central Kyiv on Sept. 28, 2026, with a drone — an unmanned flying weapon. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least one person was killed and at least three hurt. Academy president Anatoliy Zagorodny said many workers were inside. The old 1800s building is near Germany’s embassy and the National Opera.
