70% of 49 residents tested near the AGC Chemicals Europe factory in Thornton-Cleveleys, north of Blackpool, had combined PFAS — long-lasting industrial chemicals — above 20 ng/ml, the US level linked to higher health risk. Results were published in the week before 28 September 2026. Britain sets no blood-level limit.
