Katy Marchant retires as reigning Olympic team sprint champion

Katy Marchant, 33, has announced her retirement from elite cycling. She leaves as reigning Olympic champion after team sprint gold — three riders against the clock over three laps — with Emma Finucane and Sophie Capewell in Paris 2024. That was her second Olympic medal after individual sprint bronze on debut in Rio 2016.
