70% of residents tested near Thornton-Cleveleys factory exceed US PFAS risk threshold

Blood tests on 49 people living near the AGC Chemicals Europe factory in Thornton-Cleveleys, north of Blackpool, found 70% had combined PFAS above 20 ng/ml. The testing, published in the week before 28 September 2026, uses the US threshold for increased health risk. The UK has no blood-level guidance.
