France extends phone ban to all high schools

France enacted a law on August 24, 2026 banning phones and connected devices in all lycées (ages 15–18). Students must store devices in lockers on arrival. Since primary and middle schools already prohibit phones, French schooling is now phone-free from preschool through graduation. Teachers' unions call the rollout timeline impractical.
